Reciprocity Agreement Procedure

Intro: Purpose of Reciprocity; Process guided by a spirit of appreciative inquiry; Asset-oriented approach

  1. Requestor contacts ACPE office at acpe@acpe.edu
  2. Request then sent to IRC chair.
  3. IRC creates task group to connect with Requestor who will assign reps to join the task group
  4. What the task group will be assessing for similarities and differences, which is informed by ACPE Accreditation’s Standards Review form:
    1. Common sense of purpose, mission and values
    2. Educational philosophy
    3. Code of ethics & accountability of members
    4. Standards for accreditation (or equivalent) of programs
    5. Standards for certification (or equivalent) of educators
    6. Outcomes & Indicators for granting CPE credit
  5. Task group brings recommendation to IRC (for ACPE) and to the Requestor’s designee (for the other country) for review
  6. If all agree, then the task group develops the reciprocity agreement
  7. Agreement is sent to the ACPE board and to the Requestor’s board
