Dear ACPE Members:

lynnettglass (1)

As we close out 2025, I'm pleased to share important updates for our Association. Despite the challenges we've faced this year, ACPE continues to demonstrate resilience and sound progress.

Key Highlights:

Accreditation Updates: The Recognition Task Force has completed draft revisions of key accreditation documents, which will be distributed to members for review and feedback this month. Virtual Q&A sessions will follow. The Board has also approved evolving the Accreditation Commission into an ACPE subsidiary.

Financial Health: ACPE received a clean 2024 audit with net assets increasing $80K. The organization remains fiscally sound with more than 6 months of operating reserves. The 2026 budget has been approved at $4.4M, which includes significant investment in technology upgrades.

Membership: The 2026 Annual Meeting is scheduled for October 10-14. Individual membership dues will increase starting January 2026. This will be the first increase in approximately 20 years.

Technology Investment: Implementation of a new association management system is underway, with member training beginning in Q2 2026. This will streamline operations and improve member experience.

Commission Updates: Progress continues across all commissions, including nine newly certified educators since May and faster case disposition times through the Professional Ethics Commission. The Psychotherapy Commission has issued approximately 800 continuing education certificates during the last three-year cycle and has received approval from the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) to offer home-study continuing education credits.
