Chair's Reflection: Thank You, ACPE!

“Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, ‘This is the way; walk in it’". (Isaiah 30:21)

Four years ago, I took on the opportunity and challenge to serve as Chair-Elect of the ACPE Board of Directors. As you recall, Shawn Mai was the Board Chair. Serving with him helped me develop and strengthen the skills I needed for this role. He treated me as a true partner, kept me informed, and included me as we navigated what I thought were some turbulent waters. (I had no idea about the “waters” I would face as Chair of the Board.)

For me, time has always moved fast and slow… as I approach the end of my tenure as Chair, I feel like the last 23 months have flown by, while this last month is moving at a snail’s pace. I am grateful for the ACPE Membership, Board, and Staff because in infinite ways God has used each of you to help me hear the Voice directing my next steps.

Although I have held many professional leadership roles, none have challenged me as much as this one. Yet, as I look back over the last two years, with its ups and downs, my heart is filled with hope for our Association and renewed confidence that the world needs what we offer.

Please help me welcome Matt Rhodes as the Chair. I pledge my continued service and support to our organization… my professional home. I look forward to what comes next… we may have some difficult days ahead, but our future is as bright as our faith!
