SIP Training Research Publishes in APA Journal Psychotherapy

ACPE is proud to announce the publication of research on the efficacy of its Level 1 and Level 2 SIP training in Psychotherapy, a journal of the American Psychological Association. This research and its publication bring credibility and visibility to ACPE’s SIP Program.

SIP participants were asked to complete two standardized questionnaires before and after the Level 1 and Level 2 training. Statistical analyses of those pre- and post-training questionnaires revealed that participants’ spiritual competence and use of spiritual interventions during treatment sessions significantly increased after the training program. Most changes were large or moderately large, indicating that the participants’ improvements were educationally and clinically meaningful. (Click here to read a short summary of the findings that appear online at the Society for the Advancement of Psychotherapy website.)

ACPE is grateful to SIP participants who completed the questionnaires, to SIP trainers who distributed the questionnaires, and to principal investigator Dr. Scott Richards of the Bridges Institute.
