Marc Medwed Named Interim Executive Director

Dear ACPE Community,

At the beginning of the year, we embarked on a search for a new executive director, a process that has moved along well and will wrap up in early 2024. Recently, we shared with you that Robin Brown-Haithco will be departing as the interim executive director on December 31, 2023. To ensure a seamless transition as we complete the executive search process, the ACPE Executive Committee has invited Associate Executive Director Marc Medwed, EdD to step in as interim executive director, effective January 1, 2024.

We believe that Marc is ideal to serve in this capacity due to his ten years of experience working with our staff and managing the association’s accreditation and certification programs, supporting the work of multiple committees including the Anti-Bias Work Group, the Curriculum Committee, and the Outcomes Work Group, as well as his commitment to advancing ACPE’s vision through his strategic thinking and demonstrated leadership capability. Marc will play a pivotal role in steering our association during this interim period and continuing the momentum of our mission-driven work.

As interim executive director, Marc will oversee the day-to-day staff operations, initiate the hiring process for two vacant positions, facilitate the accreditation complaint processes for ACPE, work with the executive committee and the board in a support role, and liaison with staff.  Marc will serve in this role until a new executive director joins ACPE. 

We have full confidence in Marc’s ability to guide our organization during this time of transition, and we are committed to supporting him in this new role.
