Up to 7.5 Continuing Education (CE) Hours Available
Join us for the 2026 Spirituality Summit, a full-day virtual learning experience exploring the intersection of spirituality, mental health, ethics, technology, wellness, and clinical practice.
This year’s Summit brings together five presenters for engaging sessions designed to help mental health professionals deepen their understanding of spiritually integrated care and translate that understanding into thoughtful, culturally responsive clinical practice.
Throughout the day, participants will explore whole-person approaches to case conceptualization, the ethical use of artificial intelligence in spiritually integrated psychotherapy, spiritual wellness and self-care, the role of spiritual practices in mental health, and approaches for supporting clients who have experienced religious trauma.
Summit Sessions
Whole Person Integration: A New Lens for Case Conceptualization in Counseling
Presented by Karla Hardin, LPC-S
Explore Whole Person Integration (WPI), an integrative framework that considers physiological, psychological, relational, and spiritual dimensions of client functioning. Participants will examine how these areas interact and how the framework can support assessment, treatment planning, and the ethical integration of spirituality into counseling.
From Loaves to Practice: Using the Multiplicative Stewardship Framework to Ethically Integrate AI in Spiritually Integrated Psychotherapy
Presented by Seneka Gainer, PhD, LMFT
Explore a practical framework for incorporating artificial intelligence into spiritually integrated psychotherapy while protecting the therapeutic relationship. This session addresses opportunities for using AI to support reflection, psychoeducation, and spiritual meaning-making, along with ethical considerations such as algorithmic bias, spiritual bypassing, and overreliance on technology.
Soul Care in Practice: Integrating Spiritual Wellness into Counseling
Presented by Marisa White, PhD, LPC
Discover ways to conceptualize self-care as a spiritual and culturally responsive practice. Participants will explore practices such as mindfulness, prayer, meditation, Sabbath rest, compassion, and ritual while considering how spiritually informed self-care can support resilience, stress reduction, and holistic well-being.
Sacred Balance: The Practical and Existential Value of Spiritual Practices for Mental Health
Presented by Miriam Diephouse-McMillan, M.Ed., Board Certified Chaplain
Examine the relationship between spiritual practices and psychological coping skills and consider how spirituality can add meaning, connection, and depth to mental health practices. Participants will explore spiritual resources and evidence supporting their psychological, emotional, and social benefits.
Supporting Clients with Religious Trauma in Psychotherapy
Presented by Sarah Strauss, LCSW, CAGCS
Explore the complex impact of religious trauma on mental health and well-being. Participants will learn to recognize symptoms of religious trauma, consider risks for retraumatization, examine personal bias and countertransference, and identify approaches for supporting clients from diverse backgrounds as they navigate healing, meaning, and spirituality.
