Spiritual Care Specialist Training with Tres Adames
Tuesday, March 18th, 2025 - Tuesday, May 13th, 2025
This 48-hour training program will be held online weekly on Tuesday evenings scheduled in zoom from 4:00 pm - 6:30 pm (PST).
The cost for the course is $600, payable in full for a $50 discount or through four monthly installments of $150. Participants who complete the course will receive a certificate of completion.
What is the Spiritual Care Specialist Training Program?People practicing in care ministries, whether professional or volunteer positions, sometimes find themselves at a loss as to how to respond to the kinds of problems around which their care-receivers are seeking help. Addiction, mental health challenges, trauma, and domestic violence are only a few issues that may require a mental health perspective.
Have you ever wanted to learn more about these kinds of issues and build your repertoire of helping skills, so that you can provide a more competent and confident ministry of care? ACPE’s Spiritual Care Specialist training program supports people working in all manner of caring ministries to do their work more effectively, ethically, and safely.
Who is Tres Adames?
Tres Adames is a Board Certified Pastoral Counselor and Director of Prism Counseling & Coaching in Phoenix, AZ. Prior to that, he served on the faculty of Grand Canyon University in the College of Theology. Tres received his Master of Divinity from Wesley Biblical Seminary and a Bachelor of Arts from Asbury University. He has been an active contributor to the development of the Spiritual Care Specialist program since its inception. Tres is passionate about equipping caregivers across all faith backgrounds to provide effective and ethical spiritual care.

Arizona Christian Counseling
Tres is a Board Certified Pastoral Counselor and Director of Arizona Christian Counseling in Phoenix, Arizona. He holds a Master of Divinity from Wesley Biblical Seminary and Bachelor of Arts from Asbury University. Tres currently serves on the ACPE Psychotherapy Commission and has been an active contributor of the new Pastoral Care Specialist program since its inception. This offering focuses on clergy in parish settings, as well as pastoral counselors and spiritual directors in community and private practice settings.
