The Integration of Neuroscience with Counseling

Daniel Wood, a student in the School of Behavioral Sciences at Liberty University, is conducting research as part of the requirements for a Doctor of Education degree in Community Care and Counseling. The purpose of this research is to investigate if there is a relationship between the clinician or counselor characteristic variables of self-competency, theoretical attitude, and strength of religious beliefs and their choice regarding the use of neuroeducation in trauma case conceptualization and treatment. Further, an additional aspect of his reasoning is to examine if there is a between-group difference regarding the choice of neuroeducation use among the subgroups of mental health professionals including psychology professionals, spiritual care providers, and clinical social workers. Daniel invites eligible participants to join his study.

Participants must be 18 years of age or older and a licensed or board-certified Psychiatrist, Psychologist, Counselor, Therapist, Pastoral Counselor, Clinical Chaplain, or Clinical Social Worker as per applicable State, Federal, or professional organizational guidelines. Further, participants must have been in practice for a minimum of three years and be currently accepting clients. Participants, if willing, will be asked to complete an online survey to include a demographic questionnaire, the review of a summarized trauma case, and four Likert-type scale assessments. It should take approximately 20 minutes to complete the procedures listed. Participation will be completely anonymous, and no personal, identifying information will be collected.

To participate, please click here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/BRVGHZZ

Please forward this invitation to any practicing Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Counselors, Therapists, LCSWs, Pastoral Counselors, or Chaplains you think may be interested.

A consent document is provided as the first page of the survey. The consent document contains additional information about my research. Because participation is anonymous, you do not need to sign and return the consent document unless you would prefer to do so. After you have read the consent form, please click the button to proceed to the survey. Doing so will indicate that you have read the consent information and would like to take part in the study.

Sincerely,
