Hello ACPE Members and Friends,

I hope you are enjoying your summer so far. Whether you're traveling, attending family reunions, or hunkering down for work with students or clients, may your summer be full of everything you need. In my recent time away from work, I’ve been reminded of the importance of community and collaboration. I am grateful for our community of donors. Your donations make the Foundation for ACPE work.

In last month’s newsletter, we shared the 2024 Grant recipients. I want to congratulate our grant recipients again:

Christopher Brown CEC Ignite Grant

  • Spiritual Care & Education Center at St. Mark’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah, under the leadership of ACPE-CE Rev. Dr. Mariclea Chollet.

Innovation in Research and Spiritual Care Grants

  • The ACO Spiritual Health CPE Fellowship, led by ACPE-CE Stephen Faller and Dr. James Barr, M.D., at Atlantic Health / Overlook Foundation, Summit, New Jersey, received $16,000 to integrate Clinical Pastoral Education into accountable care settings.
  • "We Belong Here! Learning More Authentic Models of Spiritual Care for AAPI in ACPE" led by ACPE Emeritus Educator Julie Hanada, which received $16,000 to explore and enhance spiritual care practices within the Asian American & Pacific Islander community.

ACPE Palliative Care Education Research Travel Awards

Thanks to a generous gift from California State University, the ACPE Foundation awarded Joshua Berg and Paul Galchutt travel grants to present original research on palliative care education at prominent conferences.

Your contributions go toward funding important advances in our field and make a real difference in the lives we touch through this funding.

At the 2024 Annual Donor Reception in Pittsburgh, we raised over $20,000 in donations and pledges, a huge milestone in our annual campaign. Your generous contributions will fund innovative projects.

If you have not yet made a gift this year, I invite you to consider donating before the end of the summer. You can make your donation in honor of another ACPE member and/or a cause that is important to you. You may also wish to become a monthly donor and automate your contribution to this important work.

However you choose to give this summer, on behalf of the Foundation Board, we thank you for your commitment to the mission of the Foundation for ACPE.
