Written by Cecelia Walker, Chair, ACPE Board of Directors

Lynnett Glass, EMBA, MDiv, SHRM-CP, will join ACPE on April 3, 2024

Dear Colleagues,

I think I can safely say that we have all been waiting to hear a final word about the Executive Director search process, and I am delighted to write you a very important update! We know how important this role is for our beloved organization, and everyone involved—the Search Committee and the Board—has been very diligent in discerning an ED who has a passion for what we do and the skills to help run our Association. Good news—we have found that person!

At a meeting of the ACPE Board of Directors on March 18th, 2024, Lynnett Glass was unanimously elected to serve as the Executive Director of the ACPE starting April 3rd. She brings a wealth of experience to the role, including a Master of Divinity from Candler School of Theology, an Executive Master of Business Administration from Kennesaw State, extensive leadership experience in non-profits and faith-based institutions, and most recently, executive leadership experience for a national member Association, the Association of Black Cardiologists.

With significant gifts in strategic planning, operations, and development, Lynnett also has a deep appreciation for the work that ACPE Certified Educators do, as she completed a CPE Internship with Emory St. Joseph Hospital while in divinity school and a Residency with the University of Louisville Hospital in 2018. Additionally, having previously planned to become a pastoral counselor and having focused on pastoral care and counseling at Candler, she is excited to work with and support our ACPE Psychotherapists. Her passion for DEI work and experience addressing health disparities give her a unique vantage point for leading this Association across multiple strategic initiatives.

The Search Committee and the Board enthusiastically support Lynnett as our Executive Director. She is excited to manage and run the business of the Association as we collectively lead the movement of spiritual care education and spiritual care provision.

In addition to my gratitude to the Board, I also wish to thank the Search Committee, which conducted this exhaustive search over the last year. The members of the Search Committee were Tahara Akmal, Claire Bamberg, Shawn Mai, Helen McNeal, Gyasi Patterson, Matt Rhodes, Garrett Starmer, Cecelia Walker, and Melissa Walker-Luckett. I am also very grateful for the staff support offered by Tiffany Kindred and Marc Medwed.

Please join me in welcoming and congratulating Lynnett. As she will start on April 3rd, if you would like, take a moment around that time to email her and send along words of congratulations: Lynnett.Glass@acpe.edu

Be on the lookout for a video from Lynnett sharing her excitement about this role, which will arrive in your inboxes in the coming weeks.

We have much to celebrate in our Association and much good work ahead of us. May we enjoy both.

Blessings Always,

Cecelia Walker, Chair, ACPE Board of Directors
