Reflections from the Interim Executive Director

My contract with ACPE will end December 31, 2023. I leave with sadness and grief, and at the same time I am looking forward to reclaiming my retirement and having more time to spend with Miriam, and my granddaughter, Aubree.

The past 13 months have been filled with many moments of joy as I have become acquainted with my Beloved Association in different ways. While there have been a few challenges, the joys have far outweighed the challenges. I have been grateful for the support received from the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors during my time as Interim. I have appreciated the collegial relationship with Marc Medwed, our Associate Executive Director. I have appreciated working with the staff and have seen up close the work they do and the ways they support our Association.

I have grown in my ability to take the hard stance even when I know it will not be a popular decision and may cause friction or tension. What I have most learned is that whatever decisions are made must be made with one purpose in mind, to ensure that the mission and vision of the Association is being supported by a bold strategic plan, a sound financial plan, and a central focus on connections within ACPE and with our strategic partners.

I am grateful to have been given the privilege and honor to serve ACPE once again. This beloved community will always be in my heart and have my full support. The future ahead will be determined by each of us and our willingness to always do what is right and good for the Association. May it be so!

Blessings and Peace,

Robin
