Supporting Justice, Equity, and Inclusion: ACPE's Summer Highlights and Initiatives

Written by Robert Brooks Heard, MDiv, BCC, ACPE

I hope that you have had a wonderful summer so far. If you have not had the chance to attend a reunion or take vacation, I hope you will soon. The work that we do is so meaningful, and summer can be one of the busiest times of the year. Remember that July is National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month. It is important to continue to spread the word about mental health disparities in historically underrepresented communities. Don’t forget to check on each other and check in with yourself. As you support and care recipients, I encourage you find the rest and renewal you need as well.

One of the highlights of this summer for me has been to know that 30 summer CPE students from across the country have been awarded a $2,000 Hemenway scholarship. Recipients will have a little more freedom and a little less stress this summer as they complete a unit of CPE while still managing life outside of CPE. Thank you for your investment in our future and your continued willingness to give. This is one of the many ways your gifts are making a difference to address justice, equity, diversity, inclusion and access.

If you have other ideas about how you would like for the Foundation to address justice, equity, diversity, inclusion and access, to not hesitate to reach out. Consider making a gift this month or becoming a monthly donor.
