The mission of the Chaplaincy Services Department is to provide a safe space for people to process their emotions and when applicable draw on their spiritual resources to move toward hope, healing and wholeness.
Our chaplains provide emotional and spiritual support for patients, families and staff of all cultures, faiths, and those with no religious preference.
Chaplains respect individual dignity and privacy and offer a caring presence without imposing religious beliefs.

One opportunity is located at our hospital in Boardman and another at our hospital in Akron.
Our Chaplains require a Master of Divinity degree or related field and 4 units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) accredited by ACPE, with at least 2 units in a pediatric setting preferred. They must also be board certified or eligible to complete board certification within 2 years of their hire date.
This role responds to spiritual care needs as they arise, particularly during evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, offering a supportive presence during times of crisis, grief, or uncertainty.
Bachelor’s degree in theology, religious studies, pastoral care, or a related field and at least one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) accredited by ACPE, required.
