Our chaplains provide emotional and spiritual support for patients, families and staff of all cultures, faiths, and those with no religious preference. 

Chaplains respect individual dignity and privacy and offer a caring presence without imposing religious beliefs. 

Staff Chaplains

Full time (M-F day shift) and a Part time (M-F day shift) opportunities are available at our hospital in Akron.

Our Chaplains require a Master of Divinity degree or related field and 4 units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) accredited by ACPE, with at least 2 units in a pediatric setting preferred.  They must also be board certified or eligible to complete board certification within 2 years hire.

Associate Chaplain

Part time (M-F day shift) opportunity at our hospital in Akron.

Our Associate Chaplains require a Bachelor’s degree in a related field with at least 1 unit of CPE, accredited by ACPE, required.  Must obtain 4 units of CPE within two years of hire.

On-Call Staff Chaplain

This role responds to spiritual care needs as they arise, particularly during evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, offering a supportive presence during times of crisis, grief, or uncertainty.

Bachelor’s degree in theology, religious studies, pastoral care, or a related field and at least one unit of CPE accredited by ACPE, required.
