  1. Foundation for ACPE Innovative Program Awards in collaboration with the Chaplaincy Innovation Lab

Funded by gifts to the Sowing Seeds for Our Holy Work Annual Campaign, Innovative Program Awards provide funding support for projects that extend CPE and spiritual care education into new contexts. As the Covid-19 pandemic has brought many challenges to ACPE members and programs, the Foundation for ACPE will partner with the Chaplaincy Innovation Lab to provide resources to chaplains and ACPE educators who are partnering with an administrator (staff member outside of their chaplaincy departments) at their organizations to extend the work on the frontlines of COVID-19, especially the needs of the most impacted. The Foundation for ACPE will contribute an additional $21,000 to the funds generously granted by the Henry Luce Foundation. The Foundation for ACPE funding is designated for projects that align with the stated criteria, and specifically address this need in the contexts of ACPE programs. Projects that address social inequalities around or related to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic are strongly encouraged.

Submit an application by November 15, 2020. Email ACPE Development Specialist Jasmine Terry Okafor for additional details.

  2. Mission Advance Program (MAP) Fund Grant for Innovative Spiritually Integrated Psychotherapy Projects

The 2020 Mission Advance Program (MAP) Fund grants cycle is now open!

Funded by disbursements from the MAP Endowment Fund as in accordance with the Foundation for ACPE’s financial policy, MAP funding supports ACPE Psychotherapist and Practitioner members in the fulfillment of ACPE’s mission. Specifically, these projects help to advance and raise awareness of Pastoral Counseling/Spiritually Integrated Psychotherapy.

Last year, the MAP Fund awarded $15,000 to support the launch of the Spiritually Integrated Psychotherapy (SIP) program. The project, led by ACPE Psychotherapy Commissioner, Russell Siler Jones, is going well. We look forward to sharing the full report of the project once the grant concludes later this year.

This year, up to $15,000 is available in funding. The Foundation for ACPE Board will approve funding based on the MAP Fund Advisory Committee’s recommendations. Award recipient(s) will be notified no later than December 15, 2020, and funds will be disbursed in the first quarter of 2021.

Interested applicants should submit their materials by November 1, 2020.  CLICK HERE to submit an application.
