Assistant/Associate Professor and Program Director for Interreligious Chaplaincy

United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities invites applications for a tenure-track position: Assistant/Associate Professor and Program Director for Interreligious Chaplaincy. Responsibilities include: teaching four courses per academic year at the graduate (seminary) level along with some administrative oversight (curriculum, quality control of program, and engagement with administrative staff around student recruitment and retention). Regular faculty expectations also include engaging in scholarly activity (research, conferences, publications), advising students (especially advising chaplaincy students toward vocational readiness for chaplaincy work), and serving on seminary committees.

Qualifications include a Ph.D. (in an area concerned with or related to chaplaincy, pastoral care) or equivalent--which may be defined as a D.Min. in chaplaincy and/or C.P.E Supervisory Clinical Pastoral Education. Ideal candidates will have 5+ years experience working as a chaplain in a hospital, military, or other professional chaplaincy context. PhD or equivalent must be completed within 1 year of start date. Scholarly competencies should include some combination of interreligious and intercultural awareness as pertinent to the chaplaincy vocation. Candidates of color and women are especially encouraged to apply.
