East Jefferson General Hospital is a not-for-profit community hospital with over 500 independent physicians on staff. It is located in Metairie, Louisiana, a suburb of New Orleans. The hospital opened as a publicly owned service district hospital in 1971. It joined the LCMC Health family in 2020. The 420-bed hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and is Louisiana’s first Nurse Magnet hospital. CPE has been offered at this center since 1998 with the accreditation of the McFarland Institute and in 2003 EJGH became an accredited candidacy Center.
East Jefferson General Hospital is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Director of Spiritual Care/ACPE Educator. As the Director of the program, this individual would be involved managing the Spiritual Care Department and maintaining the CPE program by the supervision of CPE residency programs. East Jefferson General Hospital is accredited for Level I and Level II and Certified Educator Candidate (CEC) level programs. The Department of Spiritual Care and the ACPE program provide coverage in the hospital 24/7. Baccalaureate degree, Master of Divinity or equivalent required.
